Autofluorescence - can you reduce?

Is there any method of reducing or quenching autofluorescence of human
leucocytes but leaving specific antibody fluorescence intact? We are looking at
human cord blood leucocytes, and the eosinophils (I assume) seem to be
particularly autofluorescent. In two colour fluorescence can the third channel
be used to gate out unstained cells? When autofluorescent cells are stained,
are the auto- and specific components additive. Can compensation tuning help in
three-colour analysis? Can anyone offer specific compensation advice for a
FacsSort on FITC / PE/ PerCP? Any help or discussion appreciated.
