Welcome to Purdue University Cytometry Laboratories' Information Network
Image Analysis and Software Capabilities
NOTE: This area still under construction
Software Programs
The following image analysis programs are installed in the lab:
Silicon Graphics
- Indigo 2 Workstation (2)
- Vital Images VoxelView Software (pretty complicated program, powerful,
not exactly intuitive to use)
IBM PC Compatible Systems
- Compaq Prosignia 500, 80 meg ram
- Microvoxel (OK - could take it or leave it - has some useful features)
- COMOS (can run the confocal scope)
- OPTIMAS (OK - useful features, but limited - the good stuff is usually in the next upgrade!)
- Running Under OS2 Warp
- PM View (fantastic shareware program - a MUST if you have OS2)
- PM Jpeg (same comment as above)
- LASERSHARP 1024 - 1024x1024 - software for running the MRC 1024
- Running Under Windows
- Powerpoint (Very useful for slides)
- Deltagraph (Good for graphs - OK for slides)
- Bravo (partially useful - not as friendly as some!)
- PRISM v.2, Graphpad Software (Excellent for graphs and stats)
- Confocal Assistant (very useful)
- PStyler (very useful for quick manipulation of images)
- Corel Draw (Clever program, OK, only use when need too)
- Metamorph/Metafluor, Universal Imaging (Expensive, but pretty good software)
Note: Many other graphics programs have been tried,
trashed and tossed at considerable economic loss to the lab!!
Perhaps it would be useful to list them.......?
Macintosh
- We finally trashed our Macs hopefully for all time!
