2nd Workshop on Tumour Heterogeneity; Kananaskis, May 24-27
We are holding a second working symposium on tumour heterogeneity in Kananaskis, Alberta, next May. Kananaskis is an isolated location in the Canadian Rocky Mountains that lends itself to intensive workshop meetings.The main theme of this year's meeting is the relationship between genetic change and altered growth regulation in human cancer, and the development of cytometric techniques for studying this critical area of molecular pathology. Because the technical problems of quantifying intracellular antigens and in-situ hybridiization remain a critical impediment to progress, a major effort will be made to develop a set of guidelines for use in clinical laboratories. The problems of analyzing complex data sets will also be addressed. It is expected that this symposium will serve as a prelude to the ISAC main off-year meeting on "Molecular Pathology of Human Cancer", being held at the University of Toronto in June 1997.
Attendance is limited to 70-80 participants. The organisers are particularly interested in participation by individuals with expertise in the relevant topics, and by young investigators who feel they would benefit from the meeting (we hope to be able to sponsor students and post-docs).
On site expenses will be approximately $600 for 5 nights shared room accomodation plus all meals. There is no registration fee.
