There was e-mail regarding whether or not anti-IgG (heavy + light) would
detect a primary antibody which is IgM. I lost the header so I could not send
my reply directly. The second antibody of goat anti-mouse IgG (heavy + light)
will detect the first mouse IgM very well via the light chain. They should
either use heavy chain specific antibody or biotinylate one of them and
directly label the other. Even the heavy chain specific antisera, unless
heavily absorbed for light chains and other heavy chains may have some
reactivity to unexpected Ig's.
