There is a new version of FACSOVL with a few improvements of the user interface
and some minor bug fixes. The program is available via Eric Martz list of
cytometry software (http://www.bio.umass.edu/mcfacs/flowcat.html) or anonymous
ftp from flowcyt.bio.umass in \pub\facsovl.
FACSOVL is freeware. In contrast to the excellent general purpose MFI (Eric
Martz) and WinMDI (Joseph Trotter), FACSOVL performs a very specific task: It
reads up to eight Coulter XL histogram files (haven't tested other's) of
4-decade log type, and overlays, scales, and smooths them. The data is output in
a variety of spreadsheet formats, suitable for input into graphing programs. We
use it to make publication figures of overlayed histograms.
FACSOVL is a 16-bit windows program. For an OS/2 version or source, please
contact me directly. For anything else, please consult on-line help and included
WordPerfect-format manual file. Of course, I'm interested in bug reports etc.
Sincerely, Fred
