Louis,
We've been using an Omnichrome air cooled argon ion and (and a HeCd) for
over two years now and have had no trouble with either. The Argon Ion
was originally tunable and this gave us a problem in that it detuned as
it warmed up, replacement of the prism with a mirror has left us with a
very stable laser that requires little interference (I have tuned it
twice but it wasn't really necessary). Power output on our model is
variable between 20 and 130 mW.
