Hello Flowers!
we are new in this field. For FISH-applications we are looking for the perfect
combination of dyes.
Because our Flow-Cytometer (FACSCALIBUR, Argon-laser 488 nm) has no UV-laser, it
is not possible to stain the bacteria using DAPI (the usual counterstain).
On the other hand, we got perfect results using SYTO16 or SYTOX (Molecular
probes). But both dyes interfere with FITC (the usual probe-"stain").
Does anybody have an idea?
Kind regards
