Boston User Group for Cytometry
"Analysis, purification and utilization of hematopoietic stem cells"
Full Day Meeting Announcement
Sept. 24,1996

The next Boston Users Group for Cytometry meeting will be an all day
meeting to be held on Sept 24,1996 at the World Trade Center, on the
Boston Fish Pier. We are fortunate to have speakers scheduled for this
meeting who have been instrumental in the analysis, purification and
utilization of hematopoietic stem cells. In addition, vendors will be on
hand to display their products. Please make a point of joining us for this
informative meeting.

The following speakers will present their work:

Michael Rosenzweig, PhD Harvard Medical School,
New England Regional Primate Research Center
"The characterization of hematopoietic progenitors
in the Rhesus macaque"

David T. Scadden, MD The MGH Cancer Center
"Function-based stem cell isolation"

Margaret Goodell, PhD Childrens Hospital
"Dual wavelength Hoechst 33342 analysis: Purification of
hematopoietic stem cells across multiple species"

Iain Webb, MD Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
"Hematopoietic progenitor cells: current and future
clinical applications"


The meeting will take place at the World Trade Center on the Boston
Fish Pier. Sessions will run from approximately 9:00am until 4:00pm,
with time set aside in that period to view the vendor exhibits. Lunch will
be served.

The World Trade Center can be reached by taking public
transportation to South Station, where a free shuttle bus is available
every 10 minutes to bring you to the facility. Parking is available if
needed directly across from the Center, and the maximum charge for all day
parking is $8.00. If you need more information, please call the World
Trade Center at 617.439.5021 or the Boston User Group at 617.632.4485 and
leave a message.

Seating will be limited to 100 places, so please reserve your
spot as soon as possible to take part in this informative meeting.
Registration forms must be received by Sept 18,1996 and no phone or
walk-in registration will be accepted.
