Jurkat cells and apoptosis induction

Greetings,

Stephen Perfetto, you posted some very helpful protocols for
fas-induced apoptosis induction and analysis, using a Jurkat cell line
called "J3". Do you know whether this line can be obtained from ATCC,
and what CRL or TIB number does it correspond to? Upon searching
ATCC's database on their website, eight different lines are listed.
Please be aware that at least one, but not all of these lines is known
to be mycoplasma-contaminated, which is highly undesirable from a
biosafety standpoint. The website, containing searchable ATCC
databases is http://www.atcc.org.

About the 24-hr incubation with anti-fas (after washing suspension
cultures in Hank's): at what cell density, and I assume this is in the
presence of culture medium?

We also have an Elite here, would like to chat with you about your ESP
upgrade sometime.

Thanks!
