FACSCalibur 4-color option

Colleagues,

It was recently indicated on this mailing list that
a four color combination on the FACSCalibur
might be FITC/PE/PE-Cy5 and APC-Cy7. This
would be very useful to researchers who simply
want to update existing three-color options by
adding a fourth color (APC-Cy7) as opposed to the FITC/PE
PE-Cy7/ and APC option for fourth color which
would essentially demand upgrading from 2 color
since both PE-Cy7 and APC would be "new" in so
much as a FITC/PE/ PE-Cy5 three color combo has
become fairly standard.

Based on the filter combination in the Calibur however
it seems that the latter color combo is optimal since the
PE-Cy7 would pass the 670LP in FL3 and the APC
would enter FL4 across the 661/16. How would this
work with the former color combination? APC-Cy7
with emission around 780 would be blocked by the
661/16.

Is Mario Roederer suggesting switching filters between
FL3 and FL4? I've noticed the filters in front of the PMT's
to FL1 and FL2 on the Calibur are relatively accessible
but the filters to FL3 and FL4 are not?
