Consecutive washes with bleach/detegent - 50% ethanol - 0.5 M NaCl
should remove most of the stuff which attaches to the tubing. Ethanol
dissolves many poorly water soluble (hydrophobic) dyes which may
attach (via precipitation) to the tubing. Since nearly all dyes are
charged molecules, they also attach electrostatically to the tubing.
The best way to remove so attached molecules is to rise ionic
strength (e.g. 0.5 M NaCl), which breaks ionic bonds.
