Life of PMT depends on how much light is shined on the cathode and how much
voltage is applied to dynode chain. If they are taken care of (don't shine room
light on them with the voltage on) they should last a long time. We have been
running the same PMTs on one of our sorters since 1982. Not a bad deal if one
depreciates this item over 12+ years.
