At 569nm Texas Red absorbs with about 50% of its maximum efficiency. We
have not tried this excitation, but my guess is that it would be quite
suboptimal for TR, with the low density antibodies being difficult to
separate from background. Moreover, 569nm is very near the excitation
peak for PE, so using this laser line for TR would preclude using PE
and any of its energy trasfer conjugates.
