Dear Fellow Cytometrists: We are about to start performing DNA strand
break analysis using TDT and biotinylated dUTP. I am wondering whether
anyone has compared Promega's biotin-21-dUTP vs. Boehringer's
biotin-16-dUTP, or can reliably guess whether either should work better. I
would guess that a 16 spacer should be sufficient, but maybe not... Also,
I wonder if anyone could explain the rationale as to why uridine is used
rather than a more conventional DNA nucleotide? Thanks for your
suggestions.
