Just a reminder that the last date to register for the Annual Clinical Flow
Cytometry Course sponsored by the Clinical Cytometry Society is next week-
July 15th. The course is held in Charleston from August 17-19. This course
will offer an intensive review of the most common clinical applications of
flow cytometry with an emphasis on data analysis and interpretation. Image
analysis will be incorporated where appropriate. Topics include diagnosis
of acute leukemia and lymphoproliferative disorders, prognostic markers in
hematopoietic neoplasms, molecular markers of neoplasia, detection of
apoptosis, stem cell enumeration, minimal residual disease detection,
monitoring of immune recovery following bone marrow transplantation, and
cell cycle evaluation of solid tumors. Course material will be covered in
lectures and hands on manipulation of actual patient data. Class sizes
will be kept small (8-15 students) to allow close interaction with faculty
members for an optimal learning experience. A comprehensive course syllabus
will be provided. The course is appropriate for pathologists and medical
technologists with experience in the field of flow cytometry as well as
pathologists, hematologists or oncologists utilizing flow cytometric data
in diagnosis and patient management. Classes will be grouped according to
experience. Tuition is $600 and includes registration, syllabus,
continental breakfasts and luncheons. Registration will be on a first come,
