Debbie,
We recently installed a "Vertex 2.6 GB External Optical Hard
Drive" on our Mac workstation for data archiving. It has
removeable optical disk cartridges similar to the FACScan HP
system, but is very fast. Once past the usual startup bugs, we
are quite satisfied with the setup. We can save and retrive data
at will. You mentioned a "once write / many read" setup -- I am
not familiar with that arrangement. This is a fully rewriteable
system. Please write for further questions.
