About Caltag . . .

Caltag Laboratories was formed in late 1985 to take advantage of the extensive experience of the founders in the immunological reagents field. This experience spans the period from the 1960's to the present and encompasses nearly all the significant advances in antibody technology. We have commercially introduced and pioneered such developments as the affinity-isolation of antibodies (early 1970's) and the PE-Cy5 tandem conjugates commonly used today for multi-color flow cytometry.

Caltag offers reagents for many immunological assays, but the principal focus has been on multi-color assays for flow cytometry. Our goal is to be on the cutting edge of technology with respect to antibody and fluorochrome developments. This has been made possible by several valuable collaborations with academic researchers and cooperations with other commercial companies, as well as through our own product development activities. We invite inquiries from researchers and other companies which will lead to mutually beneficial relationships.

Our product portfolio includes a broad range of monoclonal antibodies for use in detecting human, murine and rat cell surface and intracellular molecules and Annexin V for apoptosis assays. In cooperation with An-Der-Grub (Austria) we have opened the door to consistent intracellular staining assays with the Fix & Perm cell permeabilization system together with antibodies specific to intracellular molecules including cytokines. Most recently, in cooperation with Trillium Diagnostics, we have introduced a unique monoclonal antibody specific to fetal hemoglobin for use in flow cytometry.

Caltag's products have been offered until recently as "Research Use Only" reagents to the research community. However, during the past 3-4 years we have made a major investment to position certain of our anti-human antibodies for use in clinical flow cytometry laboratories. 15 products have now been cleared by the F.D.A. through the 510(k) process for use as "In-Vitro Diagnostic Devices" and our production facility and processes comply with GMP requirements. All of our products are produced under the same GMP requirements, including those intended solely for research use. This insures that our research customers receive products with the same high quality and consistency.

We invite your comments, criticisms and suggestions so that we can better serve your needs in the future.

Sincerely,

The Management and Employees of Caltag.
