Flow Cytometry Quality Control
Flow cytometry quality control requires the verification of all parameters
of testing, including the instrument and other equipment, antibody staining
qualities, and the lysing procedure. Instrument function checks must be
customized according to the cytometer in use in the laboratory and the
manufacturer's recommended function checks. Because the instruments currently
in the field vary in the number and type of parameters needing monitoring,
it is impossible to provide pre-printed forms that will be suitable for
every instrument. The forms included in this manual may be used as guides.
The important aspects to note are that all parameters being checked must
have stated tolerance limits and all work must be reviewed periodically
by the laboratory director.
