964085 Research Associate III or IV
You will assist in the operation of a busy flow cytometry facility
consisting of Becton-Dickinson Immunocytometry Systems FACStarPlus, FACS
Vantage cell sorters and FACScan cell analyzers. Responsibilities
include assisting with the operation, calibration, scheduling, data
transfer and routine maintenance of the facility instrumentation. In
addition, you will be contributing intellectually to on-going and new
FACS development projects in the areas of software
development/improvement, computer needs, and
fluorchrome/optics/detection systems. You will be required to extract
and formulate methods and techniques from scientific journals, articles
and meetings relating to FACS applications. You will also be
responsible for record keeping, ordering and maintaining inventory.
B.S. or M.S. degree in a relevant scientific discipline with experience
with at least two years of experience for candidates with a M.S. degree
(at least five years experience for candidate with a B.S.
degree) in an academic, clinical, or corporate biological/medical
research environment. In this position, you must be willing to work a
non-routine day schedule as well as be available for emergencies if
needed.
