Dear Brad,

I personally would like to put in my 2 cents regarding bone marrow analysis.
First of all, good for you for responding the way you did! If more and more
scientists or clinicians were humble enough to admit not knowing something,
both patients and academicians would be better off! I especially
congratulate Adrian for asking the same question I've been wanting to ask
for the last few months. Bone marrow analysis is not as clear cut as
examining peripheral blood and gating can be very tricky. 3-color analysis
using markers that will discriminate LCA positive cells with low SSC from
nucleated RBC and CD14 cells seems the best way to go. Anyway thankyou for
the response and advice. Now I too feel I learned something and will not
panic everytime I receive a bone marrow specimen. Thankyou! Francesca R.
