Those of you who routinely convert files from B-D/HP or Coulter/IBM systems
to macintosh files for analysis with Cellquest (or those of you who'd like
to) might be interested in trying out the latest version of FCS Assistant
(1.2.9).
I've made it Apple Scriptable, which means that files can be processed in
batch mode. Included with v1.2.9 is an example script that makes FCS
Assistant convert files dropped onto the script icon into an FCS2.0 format,
after the conversions have been done FCS Assistant quits. Files can be of
any B-D or Coulter FCS1.0 or FCS2.0 format, and batches can have mixed
types.
In the (hopefully near) future I will make the other functions scriptable,
and if all goes well I'll make some analysis applets for FCS Assistant to
play with. (particularly if people who use it pay the shareware fee - this
isn't a commercial plea, I need the money for books and software).
You can get a copy from my server ;
http://facsmac.med.cam.ac.uk (using netscape)
or via anonymous ftp from facsmac.med.cam.ac.uk/Transfer/ftp/ (using fetch)
I haven't sent it out to the mirror sites yet, but will do so asap.
