Due to NIH funding cutbacks, I am seeking new a new position. I have 14 years
of experience in software engineering, with a focus on real-time applications
in industrial, scientific, and research environments. I am available
as of October 1st this year.

SENIOR ANALYST / PROGRAMMER , Cell Analysis & Sorting Facility -
Department of Pathology
Was one of the two man team that designed, developed, implemented, and tested
a sophisticated, high-speed (2+ megabits per second), real time data
acquisition system using Object-Oriented programming techniques, under the
Windows Graphical User Interface. Work was done using the Microsoft
"C" / "C++" compiler, under the Visual C++ development system, and employing
a sophisticated array of development and debugging tools. The application
involved writing over 25,000 lines of code, for a research Flow Cytometer/Cell
Sorter, capable of processing 150,000 cells per second (with hardware data
filtering), and measuring up to eight parameters on each cell, with 12 bit
resolution. The machine also performs real-time principal component analysis,
and is capable of making sort decisions based on these analyses. The software
acquires and stores data at better than 15,000 cells per second, provides an
easy to use graphical interface for machine control through communications
with a virtual device driver, as well as data file management, and one and
two parameter histogram displays.
