We are seeking a Supervisor for our Flow Cytometry Laboratory at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston, Texas. This is a clinical position focused on processing samples for leukemia and lymphoma evaluation.

Job Summary
Supervises medical technologists in the performance of clinical flow cytometry testing in a hospital laboratory for various specimens including blood, bone marrow, tissue, body fluids, and cerebrospinal fluid. Assists in the development of new flow cytometry panels and analysis software templates and conducts validation studies according to CAP/CLIA standards. Writes and updates standard operating procedures. Monitoring of quality control, lab supplies, and various record keeping and troubleshooting duties. Performs first review of clinical cases before further review by pathologist. Serves as lab safety coordinator for the Ben Taub laboratory. Collaborates with the hospital safety specialist on laboratory safety related matters.
Degrees:
- Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or related science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
Licenses & Certifications:
- Cytometry Certification by ASCP
Work Experience:
- Five (5) years of Flow cytometry experience as a Med Tech or Med Tech Specialist in a CAP/CLIA-accredited hospital or clinical laboratory performing clinical flow cytometry.
- One (1) year of Familiarity with BD FACSCanto II instrument and FCS Express software is a plus preferred
- Management Experience:
- One (1) year supervisor experience in Flow Cytometry preferred
