Cell Sorter Operator position: Sr. Research Assistant

The Feinstein Institutes is seeking an energetic individual to join a fast paced, busy core facility as its cell sorter operator.
 
compensation: Compensation is competitive and is commensurate with experience level
 
We have two BD FACS Aria cell sorters as well as two other BD analyzers, and a BioRad ZE5.

Responsible for the routine care, maintenance, and operation of two BD FACS Aria cell sorters (ARIA SORP in BSL hood) as well as the BD LSR Fortessa, and the BioRad ZE5 analyzer.
 
keeps track of consumables stock and ordering supplies when necessary.
 
Ensures facility users are utilizing the facility in such a way that promotes equal access by all facility users to all instrumentation.
 
Aids in cost recovery by maintaining a high degree of vigilance over the facility’s calendar reservation system.
 
Intermediate to high degree of competency with FlowJo, BD FACS Diva, as well as MS Excel, Word, and Power Point.
 
Comfortable with general computing tasks such as data transfers, backups, and CPU maintenance as necessary to maintain Windows OS based PC’s.
 
Must be flexible to work a late schedule (to 7:00 PM - days TBD)Must be able to independently setup, and analyze multicolor immunofluorescence experiments with a wide range of tissue.
 
Should have at least 5 years experience in a flow cytometry core facility setting is preferred, B.S. in Biological Sciences required minimum education.
 
Must have at least 2 years experience independently operating cell sorters; BD FACS Aria systems preferred.
