The Iowa State University Cell & Hybridoma Facility (flow cytometry and
antibody production services) has a full time position open for flow
cytometry specialist in a rapidly growing and dynamic research environment.
The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and a field
of users with experitise in Immunology, Animal Disease, Microbiology, Plant
Sciences, Food Science and more. The following provides information on the
position responsibilities and qualifications.

Assistant Scientist/Flow Cytometry Specialist in the ISU Cell & Hybridoma
Faclity.
The key elements of this position are: 1) maintain and operate a Coulter-XL
analyzer, Coulter ELITE analyzer/cell sorter, and Coulter Multisizer II; 2)
communicate effectively and offer consultation to research clients regarding
flow cytometric methods and experimental design; 3) develop, prepare, and
teach workshops in flow cytometric techniques; 4) maintain instrument usage
log and prepare client billing invoices; 5) maintain facility's computer
systems, networks and data archive; 6) order and stock laboratory supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: B.S. in Cell Biology or related field. Two years research
laboratory experience directly relevant to cytometry/cell biology. Computer
literacy. Proficient communication skills.

Preferred: M.S. in Cell Biology or related field. Experience operating
flow cytometers.
